LA
SALA del CAMINO na sala solenne e resa armo-niosa da un camino, collocato tra le due finestre che si affacciano sul giardino. Il disegno ha forte senso architettonico, le colonne sono di marmo africano e alcune parti in marmo di Verona, a figure allegoriche. Questo esemplare di camino va collegato con le migliorie apportate all’edificio nella prima metà del Seicento, forse vi intervenne l’architetto Vincenzo Scamozzi, che fu chiamato dai Grimani. Le pareti sono anche in questa sala rivestite da tappezzerie di cuoi d’oro seicentesche con fiorami dorati e argentati su fondo verde. I dipinti sono del Seicento e appartengono alla raccolta della duchessa Di Berry. Particolari sono anche le tre porte, ciascuna a doppio battente, lavorate ad intarsio, con legni preziosi e avorio con eleganti disegni di ispirazione orientale. |

THE ROOM OF THE FIREPLACE
solemn room, rendered harm-onious by a fireplace set between the two windows that look onto the garden. There are columns made of stone from Africa and Verona, with allegorical figures. This fireplace is one of the leading exemplars added to the building in the first half of the 17th century, and may have involved the intervention of the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi, summoned by the Grimani family. The walls in this room are also covered in 17th century leather work with gold and silver floral motifs on a green background. The paintings date back to the 17th century and belong to the collection of the Duchess of Berry. The three double doorways are quite unusual and feature inlaid work in rare wood and ivory in elegant oriental designs. |
